One Axle Set Twin Pin J-56 Calipers w/ Phenolic Insulators

These are stainless steel sleeved Delco J56 Calipers. The twin pin design keeps the pad from moving around in the caliper housing, and is a good idea, particularly in the front. An additional benefit is the ninety degree bend in the top of the backing plate which adds stiffness to the pad. Our calipers use the tried and true GM lip seal pistons with titanium insulators. They come with either our Gold or our super premium Platinum racing pads. Select Front or Rear.

Description

These are correct year Delco stainless steel lined castings, precision machined to match the original J-56 twin pin calipers. Our new OEM original pistons are fitted with phenolic second-design insulators. These phenolic insulators are not under any circumstances to be used for any type of road racing. The original GM insulators were just good enough for the heat generated by the brake pads of the day, but these insulators aren’t that good. They are for show and normal driving only. For road racing, use our indestructible titanium insulators to help prevent brake fluid boiling.
