It is going to feel twice as stiff as your old one when you install it, since your old spring has very likely lost 50% of its spring rate over the years. If you have a 78 Corvette, measure the width of your old spring! Chevrolet changed to the wider spring early in the model year, and this wide one won’t fit your car if you have the early design spring mount.
